Our review covers the best doorway pull up bar for home. We have selected the best doorway (doorframe and adjustable) pull up bars available on the market.

A doorway pull up bar is the most popular type of pull up bar due to it’s low cost, ease of installation and portability. It is the ideal solution for anyone looking to build & strengthen their biceps, upper body and back muscles from the comfort of their home, office or dorm.

Doorway pull up bars are built to conveniently fit into most door frames to allow you to easily perform pull ups or chin ups. And many can also be used on the floor allowing you to perform pushups, sit ups and dips.

Best Doorway Pull Up Bar Reviews – Top 5

There are basically 2 styles of doorway pull up bars you’ll need to consider:

  • Doorway Leverage – This style of pull up bar is positioned in a doorway and is leveraged against the wood moldings surrounding the door. This style does not require mounting brackets but they are an option on some models.
  • Doorway Telescopic / Adjustable / Expanding – This is the simplest doorway pull up bar. This type of bar expands to fit in the doorway between the door jambs. Mounting brackets are used with these bars (the bar twists or expands into the brackets). Although some manufactures claim the brackets are optional, I don’t recommend it.
